weighted props

In my film class I teach people about the importance of props in production design, and how each object is picked and placed for a reason. Some props are emotionally weighted props, and carry a significant story, or connection that makes them much more that just objects. Certain pieces of this outfit carry particular 'weight' for me:

These boots were a total surprise from my mom for christmas last year, and they were exactly what I had been wanting and looking for, for a long long time. The fact that she thought of me and went out of her way to find them made me feel so special, and every time I wear them I remember that feeling on Christmas Morning.

I found these shorts while on a road trip to San Francisco with some great college friends. It was one of the best trips I've ever taken, and the shorts only cost ten dollars, which was pretty exciting at the time, but it's been about five years now and they are still totally going strong and remind me of a wonderful, adventurous, exploratory time with friends.

I'm thankful for friends
I'm thankful for memories
I'm thankful for lovely parts of the world.
