Murals, Treats, and Sunshine
So, after Japantown we headed over to an area that had a lot of different suggested locations all within walking distance, which was nice. also, tons of cool murals. I think this is my favourite mural I've ever seen because of the cool, simple sketchy looks and faded colours. reminds me of a woodblock....or if Dr. Suess did woodblocks.
Thanks to my lovely friend emma, who wrote this address on my blog, we found 826 valencia, one of the most vague-hype combos ever. everyone who talks about it is all like " you just have to go, but I can't tell you anything"....so......I guess I won't say anything either, but I hope it's not too blasphemous to post some pictures? definitely GO if you have the chance, it's super fun!
Next, we walked on over to Tartine at Ryan's Uncle's suggestion, and waited in a huge line for like 30 minutes for pastries. So glad it was worth it. they were excellent quality. we split an eclaire and a lemon creme tart.
Now, mind you, we had just come from Japantown where we got stuffed, and then ate some pastries here, so at this point I could hardly move comfortably, and luckily we heard there was a park nearby where we thought we'd stroll to and lie on the grass for a while.
Little did we know that this little park christened Delores was actually a teeming hipster disneyland with hardly a couple square feet open to sit down on. it was insane! I can't believe I didn't take a picture. I did video it though. I looked like a crowd for woodstock, except a different kind of uniform, and there was no focus of entertainment anywhere, just hangin' out. nuts.
After giving our tummy's a break, we walked over to Bi-Rate creamery for the most incredible ice cream I have ever had, and probably will ever have. ev.er. holy crap you guys. they had the coolest most unique flavours, and the texture was so good. I'm not even that into ice cream, but I am telling you this stuff was unreal. I got brown sugar with ginger caramel swirls, and honey lavender. Ryan got roasted banana, balsamic strawberry, and salted caramel.
I found two vintage 60's skirts here and paid by the pound!
Well, that's all for now:) Thanks so much for reading, your support means the world<3
