Being home for the summer means long, warm days in the shady backyard, picking strawberries and cherries in June, and grapes and raspberries in July ( among other garden goods). Our cherry tree has gotten so tall that it's really hard to reach anything without either getting a tall ladder or climbing up on the roof. We did both to try and glean a maximum amount. It was still so sad to see how many cherries were way up above us and impossibly out of reach were going to waste though.

The good thrifting in Utah seems to be slowing down too- I used to be able to find such good and cheap things every time I went, but all the stores seem so picked over and overpriced now. I'm usually walking away with nothing 8 times out of 10. I guess that's just as well though, considering I still need to be considering what will fit in suitcases and what we can fit with us when we leave. I found this vintage hat at an estate sale and this overall dress at a thrift store and I can't stop wearing them now. At least the stuff I have found is really going to stick around.

All photos taken on film, and all items worn are thrifted.

  1. Gorgeous photos as always. I felt the same way about thrifting in Austin recently, everything was so overpriced, but I've found some real keepers since moving to San Francisco. When are you moving to Japan?
