I finally got around to scanning my film from California (yes. very behind) and I'm very excited to
finally have these images up and running. My dear friend Claire who lives in Irvine (aka dreamland) was
kind enough to model for me, and the combination her lovely green hair, this beautiful nearby rocky beach,
and this vintage sea foam vintage nightgown I scored at a thrift store clicked so well with the moody misty
morning atmosphere. Couldn't ask for lovelier colours or better fairytale lighting.

Part of me wishes a little bit I had stayed loyal to kodak- this was my first time branching out and using
fujifilm, and the image quality seems to have had a significant drop from other stuff I've shot with certain
kodak stocks. Maybe the graininess and lack of clarity lends itself to the mood of the shoot though- fairytale-like
and misty, and not quite all the way there- selkies are supposed to be elusive and mysterious, after-all.

  1. Oh these photographs are gorgeous! I actually like the graininess and wonderfully dark muted colors, it gives it a dreamy character. I've always wanted to do a siren/mermaid kind of photoshoot, but it can be hard to find a willing model!
