2013 highlights!

We started off January of 2013 with a little road trip through southern Utah, Colorado, and Arizona- where we visited
cliff dwellings, four corners monument, antelope canyon, and monument valley.

We ended up getting bumped on our christmas flight, which gave us each free flight vouchers.  We used them
toward spring break spent in Florida- and I finally got to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter for the first time.
A HUGE dream come true.

We  also visited Disney and Epcot, which was, of course, loads of fun.

A little bit later we went to D.C. to see the cherry blossoms. It was my first time visiting since going with my parents as a 1 year old.  We also visited Mt Vernon.

Around 'prom time' I was asked to model some dresses by a local designer carrier. I got to pick two gowns from their showroom and went out to Bryant Park with their photographer.

From May-June Ryan went to work on an internship in Tokyo and I stayed with my family in Salt Lake City and enjoyed all the scenery and wide open space Utah has to offer.

Come July, I drove out to meet Ryan in Los Angeles where we lived for the rest of the summer while Ryan worked his second internship.  It was our last proper summer before student life is really over, and California was the perfect place to spend it.  We took full advantage of the scenery and saw so many beautiful sights and spent wonderful times with good friends.

Probably the biggest deal of the year for me was when Chictopia asked me to make a short video in conjunction with Cotton Fabric of our Lives to show on their website during the month of August.  It was the first paid gig I had gotten with complete creative control, and I was so lucky to be living in California at the time and have so many nice backdrops at my disposal.

  4. Hello, I was hoping you could help me. Me and my guy will be taking a road trip in a few months, from California up to Montana. We will be taking the 15 and will be passing through Utah and I was wondering if you had any tips or know any good spots to stop? I love all the outdoor adventure photos you have posted and I have never been to Utah. If you know of any places that we should stop at along the way and care to share I would be so appreciative! Have a great 2014. -Kim

    1. hi! sorry if this is too late- I'm not positive which things are off of the 15- most of my favorite pit stops are off of the 89....there's calico ghost town, cove fort, zion's national park is definitely worth a visit for the canyons and scenery, cedar city had shakespeare plays but I'm not sure if they're year-round . If you have flexibility to hop over to the 89 instead, that' the really scenic route and has tons of awesome roadside stuff- you can also catch some good route 66 stuff if you head east from vegas through flagstaff and stop through Saligman and Williams those have that great old timey feel and then there's tons of stuff off of the 89- horseshoe bend, antelope canyon , glen canyon dam, hoover dam, coral pink sand dunes, lots of cute little towns and lookout points along the way. I haven't done much further north toward montana- sorry.

  9. Great year! So happy to have been following you along all your adventures and ready for the ones to come this 2014! :) I was also at Monument Valley and Page Canyons, so seeing again your pics give me twice the memories :) So many favorite photo sessions here, but of course the Chictopia video was maybe the cutest one (specially that cotton letters at the end!)
