kitschen
I've been wanting to contact paper our fridge for a long time, and finally got around to doing it recently. Luckily Ryan was around to help me tackle it- it's definitely a project that needs more than two hands. I used wood paper for the handles and bottom, and a subtle pattern for the main area. I thought about putting some of the wood paper under the photo area to make it look like a frame or matting, but ultimately decided against it. I really like how it turned out! It really freshens up the whole room. It's been tough decorating here since we don't really have a real living room. We basically have a wall in the kitchen where we can put a couch. So when people are sitting in the couch area, their view is our fridge, table, and kitchen area. It's taken a while, but I think we're finally getting to a point where the whole room feels nice and put together..... in a 'me' sort of way, which means less actually go-together-matchy and more collecty-kitschy and stuff.
This cute wooden pinocchio magnet is from a zakka shop in an adorable tokyo suburb I explored one day last summer. It's almost too cute to actually hold anything.... And then here's a little collage of photo booth photos we've taken over the years.
Kapibarasan! So cuuute! From the wonderful people who brought you Rilakkuma, here is another adorable character set. I found this cork coaster set at KiddyLand in Harajuku and could. not. resist the cute and actual functional properties combined. I glued magnets to the frame and I keep it on the fridge for a cute decoration, and the coasters can just pop out when we need them!
Some of my favourite shots I've taken to display on our fridge. It's so nice to finally actually have them printed out!
And across the way, here is what you can see from our kitchen table: ladies n gents, our 'living room':
