So I have a few....ok maybe more than a few....items of clothing that I like so much that I never wear them because I'm too worried they'll wear out...so they just chill in my closet, and when I open it, I smile at them, tell them good morning and that I'm glad to own them and sift right past them because I don't want to ruin their condition. A lot of these items are from places that I've traveled, so they remind me of that place, and also, I could never replace them. This sweater is from Japan, and I think I've actually only worn it twice, even though it's adorable and I love it. I'm just so terrified I'll make it pile, spill on it, or it'll get deodorant stains or something by me actually wearing it. So I wore this on a day when I was inside my own apartment all day, and right when I was going to go outside I took the sweater off and hung it back in my closet because I didn't want my coat to rub all over it and mess with the fabric. I have anxiety and my clothes have probably have depression. what a match made in heaven.

outfit:
hat-etsy
plaid blouse/skirt/shoes-thrifted
tights- joe fresh
sweater- Japan

  2. I do the same thing! I basically hoard tons of cute pieces never to see the light of day because I'm terrified they'll get soiled! LOVE that monkey jumper. It's adorable!

  3. Oh goodness-I am the same way! I thought it was just me being a bit strange so it's good to hear others feel the same way about their clothing. Some pieces just hold such a special place in my heart that it's difficult to think about them getting worn out. I do love the layering here so very much. The subtle plaid was the perfect touch to your ensemble!

  4. What a lovely combo, I adore your sweater, it's way too adorable :))
I do the same thing, but with shoes - I tend to buy them because they are pretty and different and then I'm afraid to wear them so I wouldn't damage them in any way.

  5. What an adorable sweater! That monkey is the cutest thing! <3

I do a similar thing with my shoes. I have a few nice pairs, and when I go out - if it looks like it might rain/snow - I bring a spare pair in case I have to change out of my nice ones. Lol! The things we do for clothes/shoes! :D

  9. Your monkey shirt is so cute! I love it layered over the plaid top. Your plaid top and floral skirt look like they were just made to be paired together too. Adorable outfit, as always!

  13. I love the mixed patterns and the color scheme of this outfit! I know exactly how you feel about clothes anxiety. There are some things I won't wear a lot because I'm afraid they're going to get stretched out or worn out or stained. Deodorant stains are the worst. And I hate having to wash clothes after every use. Call me gross, but I wear an item of clothing a couple of times before I wash it. I just don't feel like it's dirty after one or two wears, and I don't want anything to get too faded or shrunken!

  18. That sweater is too cute. I wish I was that way with my clothes. I stopped wearing antiperspirant for a bit, because I didn't want to get Alzheimers, but then I was worried I was going to ruin my clothes by sweating. You know, clothes over health! That $20 Forever21 top is just too precious! So yeah, most of my clothes aren't worth saving. My Chloe shoes, on the other hand, barely get worn because I don't want them to get scuffed or start looking less fancy.

Yes, to your question. We have at least one DI in Washington, that I know of. I like them, but they never have sales :/

  22. Such a cute outfit! I love print mixing at the moment and I always go for opposites but sticking to the same colour actually looks even better! Mind you, your gorgeous and slim- I may have to apply caution when doing it myself!

Great pictures and I love that hat!
