The Hunter or the Hunted

Before our family cabin trip I knew I wanted to bring lots of dress ups and props for some fun shoots in the epic scenery. Some I planned out, and some I just found some items and threw them together. I found this cape in a pile of my grandma's things in the cedar chest. We used her clothes as dress ups growing up- especially her nightgowns. I think is was originally one of those stylish 60's capes- meant to go with a more mod ensemble, but I liked the idea of evoking the classic Red Riding Hood feel with a doll dress and suitcase.







I also liked the idea of using the mask again, to throw in some ambiguity. On one layer it could be an innocent little girl skipping through the woods with her cape and basket of goods. On another, I'm wearing grandmothers' clothes and a black mask- so it could be the wolf in disguise. I thought it would be a fun little shoot in the spirit of Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. I'm almost done with photos from the cabin! I've been back for a while now, but I really wanted to take as many pretty and fun photos as possible while I was up there,so posting has taken a while. So just as a disclaimer, these past few posts in the woods and fields and forts and wonderful scenery, were all taken weeks ago while I was at the cabin with my family- it's not like I'm suddenly in a situation where I can have such a cool backdrop all the time, Ijust wanted to take advantage of the amazing scenery while I could, and the posts have lasted me this long ( super convenient, as I work until the sun goes down now).
