Bushkill Falls
Bushkill Falls was another gem I found while digging for things to do in Pennsylvania. As soon as I saw the website I got really excited at the photos, which revealed beautiful streams and waterfalls bordered by rustic wooden boardwalks and bridges- my first thought when I saw this was 'yyyeess, it looks just like that one level on Myst, or better yet, the Ewok Village,' and the real life counterpart did not disappoint. It was extremely crowded, which made the peaceful seclusion I sought difficult, but the scenery more than made up for it. It was also about 15 degrees cooler inside the park- so a great way to spend the afternoon. Also, the visitor center sated my americana camp factor fix for at least another few weeks..
I was really excited to get a shot of my fox skirt amongst the ferns. If I could fill my house with to the brim with ferns in an organic looking way and keep them alive, I'd do it in a heartbeat. So far though, my one fern in a lone ceramic pot died within a month despite my best efforts.
Bushkill Falls is definitely worth a visit for any nature lovers headed toward the Pocnonos. It's a breathtaking place, and there is something so charming about the all-wood railings and planking surrounding the whole area.

I went there on my honeymoon a little over 8 years ago and loved it. It was the best part of our whole honeymoon (we didn't have a great one, sadly). I really loved all the trails and the interesting bridges and the pretty falls all over the place. I miss it a little looking at your pictures!!!! My husband is a Myst geek and plays them all as they come out (since they came out), so he thought the same thing and I loved the idea of ewok village though. If only! It is a shame it was so packed when you came. It wasn't when we went. We saw a few people, but I think we went during a week day which helped. I love your little fox skirt.
