Being in the Huge metropolis of Tokyo can get pretty stifling after a while- maybe I'm just definitively not a city girl, but I always just feel the urge to wander, camp, and hike through fields and woods, and visit lakes, and I get so sick of urbanity so quickly. Tokyo is super super huge though, and it's expensive to get out, so for the majority of the time I'm stuck surrounded by tons of buildings.

Good thing the parks are so great here! They're always very densely wooded and lush. This is the meiji-jingu forest. It's really big, and the reason why the shrine feels so quiet and secluded. It provides this perfectly effective barrier from the booming, bustling city, just less than a kilometer outside the grounds. So here I am, right in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the world, and you'd never guess.

  2. Beautiful images! Have I ever told you how much I adore your fox header?? I'm also a fox fan. ;)

I know what you mean about being surrounded by buildings. I'm from Wisconsin and have lived in DC for the past year and it's still something I'm not used to! I miss parks and green and the quiet of nature. It's nice that you're able to escape to a place like this in Tokyo!
