Weekend Adventures:
The High Line Park is this neat park downtown that is long and narrow and raised up above the street, so you can stroll through the city with an elevated view- it was converted from raised up tracks for freight traffic that were built in the 30's. There's lots of really cool views and places to take photos, and places to sit and chill or eat. There is a really cool birdhouse sculpture that looks almost completely 2D from one angle, but optically elongates as you make your way around- they planted lots of trees and indigenous plants all along the side so sometimes it feels like you're walking through a little forest. My favourite part is a brick tunnel lined with old blue and green glass.
Afterwards, we finally got around to walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, after living here for 9 months:

I only discovered your blog a few days ago and have already read through the entire archive! I was really excited to find a style blog I loved not just for the style but for the locations/adventures/photos/actually talking about stuff beyond clothes where appropriate. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you went to the highline. It is my favorite park, and when we move out of midtown next week, the only thing i will miss is our proximity to the highline.
