deserted
The same day we went to the museum, the weather was pretty rotten. It was pouring rain all day, and about 40 degrees, which is probably my least favorite combo. BUT we decided to bundle and gear up and spend the day out and about. I'm glad we tried it, because it felt like we had the whole park to ourselves, which was pretty magical, and the wet streets and sidewalks reflecting all the trees and lights were beautiful. I filmed some of the pretty rain scenes, but judging by the responses/ feedback I've gotten (or complete lack thereof, rather) on all my other videos, I guess I'm going to have to assume there is zero interest in that department, so I won't waste space and effort.
I'm so glad we explored Central Park in the rain- everything seemed extra clean and glossy and we didn't pass a single soul the whole time. I definitely recommend it if you have good boots and an umbrella....I wasn't quite expecting the sheer amount of rain we got that day, and I wasn't wearing real rain boots, so that got uncomfortable rather quickly, but it was worth it for the lovely, quiet scene.

These photos are gorgeous, and I am so glad I follow your blog - you capture such an essence and beauty of New York I always feel when I'm there (or when I'm dreaming of being there).... Belvedere's Castle, Central Park, I love it all! I would be turned off by the rain, but these photos are so enchanting and whimsical, now I want to wander the park in the rain!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen Midnight in Paris? One thing the main character reiterates over and over is how beautiful Paris is in the rain. Well, I'd say NYC is just as beautiful in the rain :)
And I'm sad you won't share your video. I know what its like to put effort into something for your blog, and not get the response you're hoping for. But I know you're into videography and film, do you think you could link up your Vimeo or something similar so that whenever you create something new or have it as a portfolio? :)
And yes, I have a pair of rain boots, but I always seem to wear them at the wrong time and I'm always in shoes I regret during a rain storm! But your outfit is perfect, I love the last photo of you on the bridge!! <3
Oh wow these photos are beautiful! So cool how much beauty you can get out of a drab and rainy day! You two look lovely in your coats and with the umbrellas! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I love the umbrellas.

Loving your bright blue umbrellas against the grey sky! These photos are beautiful even if the weather was crappy.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I read the part about zero responses to your videos, and I thought I would offer a possible explanation! This is just me personally, but I usually read blogs while I am at work! I am sure that at least half the people who read blogs usually do so while at school or work or some combination of the above. Even at a coffee shop without headphones. I am actually not ALLOWED to watch anything at work, so I never can actually watch the cute videos people post! I just thought that you should know that so you don't think it is lack of interest. I am sure many other people are in similar situations where it may be way easier to read than to actually be able to turn on sound/ stream something from where they are.
Alright, thats my little rant! Thanks for sharing the fun pictures, have a great day!
