ok, so it's been a while and I am way behind on pictures/ events and whatnot. grad school applications? pffffff. those need to happen sometime soonish. life is getting incredibly overwhelming.

anyways, my friend Audrey threw this autmn plaid themed picnic a little bit ago, and it was wonderful. the golden light hitting all the trees in the park looked magical, and sitting on blankets and eating seasonal comfort food was the best. we made these lil hedgehog cupcakes:



oh and that's not all....we were up to about 3am making two pumpkin pies, a pumpkin log, pumpkin cream cheese muffins, carrot cake cupcakes, and I don't even remember what else. other people brought banana bread and other pies, but my favourite was this steaming parsnip ginger soup someone brought in a jug. it was super chilly evening and that warmed us right up.













Unfortunately, we're still trying to deal with our manual-only focus lens and the fact that ryan can't see if things are in focus with his eyesight, and if we ask someone to take a picture of us they are almost always also out of focus as well....sometimes I even take a photo that looked totally focused to me but it comes out not very clear later....I'm really bad at holding still so if I ever need a long shutter speed, which is very often, usually as soon as I hit the shutter button, I'll move just enough to mess up a photo.....I've been involved with photography for a while now, so it's not like I'm new at this, but it's something I've always been embarrassed about....I think it might be time to finally invest in a tripod...
