Ueno

WHAT WE DID:































After Ryan got home from work we decided to spend the remaining sunlit hours (the sun sets at like 6:30 here) at Ueno Park. The light was beautiful, and the scenery was so refreshing compared to the concrete jungle neighborhood where we live. We found some shrines, a lake with a boathouse, and a huge stretch of lily pads and reeds that looked really pretty at sunset. And we only covered one little corner of the park!

Once it got dark we headed out to the street market area near the station and had fun exploring all the little shops and wares. In Ueno there are pandas on everything. I really liked all the pink panda banners.

WHAT WE ATE:

The other total best thing about Ueno is it has a kappa sushi- one of the best revolving sushi places I've been to, and until 8pm a bunch of options are half price! We had some really really good fish for dinner and I was the happiest of campers

Each piece was so perfectly fresh, cold, and soft, and the rice was perfectly warm. the texture was so good!
