Sailboats by the Sea
Hello there! I feel like a whole new girl after a beautiful, sunny, warm, breezy day by the sea. Isn't it glorious what a difference the sunshine can make? I sure hope this weather lasts. It was so nice and peaceful being at the beach early in the morning on a weekday- I only saw about three other people. And all the different shades of green and blue water playing off the light were mesmerizing. I waited weeks for a day like this, to go out and photograph some nice seaside images, and getting a new swimsuit made me even more excited.
You guys...I am really picky with swimsuits...I buy one, like, once every four years and wear it until it falls apart. I never like how they fit me, I rarely see a style that excites me, and I usually just buy a top and wear it with some generic waterproof skort thing I pilfered from the swimsuit bin at my parents'. I am so. excited. about this swimsuit. It is olive green, first of all, instead of a tacky neon 'summer' green, and I feel like a nice neutral coloured swimsuit is hard to find. It has a cute, simple print. Sailboats, people. It has unique details, like the grecian style single strap, and the fact that the strap is a braid that runs across the bodice. AND it fits perfectly- the bottoms are a great cut and the torso is just the right length.
When DownEast contacted me about reviewing an item from their store, I was very excited to find out that I could pick anything, even from the swim section- and once I came across this one I was completely smitten. Once it arrived and I tried in on and took it out to the beach I was even more enthralled. I don't think I've ever actually been so excited about an overall swimsuit design. it's the perfect mix of interesting, fun, unique, and elegant.

This seriously looks like it was specifically made FOR you! These shots make me reminisce about home, I grew up in a small coastal town in New Jersey but moved to Colorado two years ago! If you ever want to take a little road trip from NYC, I highly suggest the little beach town of Ocean Grove- very quaint and lots of character!

ReplyDeleteWow that suit looks really great on you. The cut is perfect!! And I'm with ya on the green color issue, I definitely prefer a more neutral green as opposed to that bright summer great as far as swimsuits go.
