While we were visiting our friends' cabin near Yosemite, we ventured out to Bodie, a famous ghost town nearby. It was astonishingly well preserved, and a little more museum-like than any other ghost town I've visited, but it was a really fun place to explore. There were tons of buildings still intact, some with al the original contents still inside! The place was heavily patrolled by state park rangers, which kind of ruined the abandoned feel, but I guess that's was keeps the stuff safe, so can't complain there.

  4. Wyoming has an abundance of well preserved sites like this one. My favorite as a little girl was always Fort Laramie. My grandparents would take me there all the time. I love these photos, as always. Your dress, scarf and hat are so cute!

    1. In my experience 1) word of mouth 2) alternatively google or look up in books or 3) you stumble across 'em.
